You can submit a proposal if you are not a member of ISPST but only members can present at the conference.  Part of the conference registration fee will be a membership fee. Complete the online submission survey here:

At the end of the survey you will submit your abstract. We will notify people via email by May 1, 2012 if their abstract was accepted as a talk or poster.

Abstracts should be in APA format and be no more than 300 words (excluding references).  Provide sufficient information about the your theoretical orientation, empirical methods, conclusions, and significance of the work for us to evaluate its quality and relevance to conference themes.

STUDENT AWARDS

2nd Biennial David Gooding Memorial Student Research Prize will be awarded to a graduate student presenting at the 2012 conference.  The student will be given special recognition at the conference and awarded with a $500 prize.  Students who wish to apply for the prize must be presenting their own original work that has been conducted with minimal guidance from their advisor.  The winning student will be the 1st author of the proposed paper and must include the Name, Title, Department, Institution, email address, website, and phone number of their advisor at the end of their submitted proposal with the heading: Advisor Contact Information for David Gooding Prize.  The abstract submitted by the award winner may be published on our website.

NSF Travel Funds: This year we have generous support from NSF to provide travel stipends to graduate or undergraduate students who are presenting at the conference.  To apply for the Student Travel Award, students must include a paragraph at the end of their submitted abstract explaining why they are interested in the Psychology of Science and Technology and what they hope to gain from the conference experience.  Include the heading "Application for Travel Award" before the paragraph and in a second line indicate whether or not we can publish your paragraph on our website.  Contact Andrew Young via email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Students interested in applying for the research award or travel stipend, must also select the appropriate options on the abstract submission survey.  The award committee includes: Greg Feist, Michael Gorman, and Sofia Liberman.

Cognitive Science Society Best Submission Award: We have generous support from the Cognitive Science Society for an award to the best student submission on a cognitive science topic. Students submitting on a cognitive science topic will be automatically considered for the Best Student Paper Award on a Cognitive Science Topic. The winner will receive $250 and a complimentary one-year membership to the Cognitive Science Society. This award will be announced at the conference - and only those who present at the conference are eligible for the award.  The award committee consists of Jordan Lippman and Corinne Zimmerman.
